ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Magic won against the Philadelphia 76ers at 112-109 in overtime on Monday night with Nikola Vucevic’s 26 points and 13 rebounds and Evan Fournier’s 19 points.

The Philadelphia 76ers had the game at halftime. Orlando needed their own magic when Monday night at halftime, Frank Vogel wrote ‘ENERGY’ in capital letters on the dry-erase board while inside the locker room of Orlando Magic. Elfrid Payton, Magic’s point guard, said that later in the game, they had to shake off whatever was there in the first half of the game.

After the first half, Orlando’s magic woke up and they recovered from their 16-point shortfall midway until the third quarter. This gave them the lead at 112-109 against Philadelphia during overtime at the Amway Center.

Magic’s Bismack Biyombo makes the bench leap from their seats and show some life after his key block halfway through the game’s fourth quarter. Biyombo rejected Richaun Holmes’ driving dunk attempt. Evan Fournier gained 7 points for the Magic in overtime along with Terrence Ross’ 16-foot jumper, putting the Magic at the 106-104 lead.

The 15-foot jumper’s miss by Philadelphia’s TJ McConnell and the defense rebound absorbed foul, and a pair of three free throws by Ross further gave Magic a 108-104 lead.

At the game’s fourth quarter, Magic has the one-point lead when at 20.7 seconds left in the quarter, Aaron Gordon was fouled out. Justin Anderson was sent into the line where he made only one of the two attempts to tie the score to 98-98. A timeout was called by Orlando Magic just before the regulation ended to set up their final play.

The ball on Orlando was inbounded to Fournier who then attempted to pass it to Vucevic. The ball was deflected by McConnell from Vucevic’s right shoe, making the ball roll out of bounds within the last 5.7 seconds.

Finding a chance to win for the 76ers, the ball was thrown to Anderson who then tried to drive past Payton. The ball was ripped out of the hands of Anderson by Payton, preventing his shot attempt and sending the game into overtime.

With the 112-109 victory of the Orlando Magic against the Philadelphia 76ers, they won consecutively for the first time after they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers last December 23 and the Memphis Grizzlies last December 26.

The Philadelphia 76ers has only 9 players playing against the Magic. They were already playing on their second back-to-back game after they took the lead against Boston Celtics Sunday afternoon but the Magic looked like they were the exhausted team.
