ORLANDO, Fla. – A lawsuit was filed against Omar Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman, and the International Security Company, his employer, declaring that they both had the power to stop his plan to attack the Pulse Night Club.
Omar Matten attacked the Pulse Night Club, known as the gay’s hottest bar in Orlando, on the dawn of Sunday, June 12, 2016. The suspect entered the nightclub with a handgun and an assault rifle, declared hostage, then released multiple gunshots all over the place before he was shot and killed. A police officer confirmed that the suspect was also carrying an explosive device.
The incident left 50 people dead, including Matten, and the event is considered to be the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States. A lawsuit that claims negligence, wrongful death, and other counts were filed in South Florida’s federal court by a representative.
Antonio Romanucci, a personal injury attorney that represents the relatives of the victims as wells as dozens of survivors of the deadly Orlando nightclub shooting, filed the lawsuit against the wife, Salman, and his employer, the International Security Company.
Romanucci stated that Noor Salman knew about her husband’s plan to pursue the killings. Salman chose to keep it a secret rather than report it to the authorities, so she served as her husband’s accomplice. According to the statement of prosecutors, Salman even joined her husband in locating a potential place to go through with the attack.
Noor Salman was arrested earlier this year and she currently awaits trial. Federal charges filed against her were abetting, aiding, and obstruction of justice, where she pleaded not guilty.
On the other hand, International Security Company is also accused of allowing Mateen to carry a gun despite the fact that their records show his inability due to his unstable mentality. The company hired Omar Mateen as a security guard, requiring him to keep a license for his firearms.
